Chiropractic is a non-invasive, health care discipline that focuses on treating conditions related to the spine, muscles, joints, and nerves of the human body. The goal of chiropractic therapy is to reduce pain, maintain mobility and to increase range of movement by using manual, preventative and rehabilitative care. This in turn, helps to optimize everyday musculoskeletal function.
Chiropractic care is used to provide symptomatic relief for patients with acute and chronic conditions, in addition to providing wellness care to ensure that the body is functioning optimally under the ongoing daily postural or physical activity stressors.
Chiropractors are qualified to assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for musculoskeletal conditions. They are regulated by the College of Chiropractor of Ontario, and chiropractic services are covered by most extended health services, WSIB, and Motor Vehicle insurances. A referral from a medical doctor is not needed to be assessed or to receive treatment from a chiropractor.
For many conditions, from lower back pain to foot pain, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition.
There are many reasons to seek chiropractic care:
- Back Pain
- Neck Pain
- Foot and Ankle Pain
- Knee Pain
- Hip Pain
- Strains and Sprains
- Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
- Work and Sports Injuries
- Limited Range of Motion in the Back, Shoulder, Neck or Limbs
